Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital resumes limited outpatient service

Nova Scotia Health Authority wishes to advise the public that Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche will be resuming some outpatient services.

Beginning June 29, the hospital will provide outpatient services for the treatment of unexpected but non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses requiring immediate care.

This interim service will be open seven days a week and staffed by family physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses. The service will be open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., unless staff are not available. The service is not available overnight.

Patients are strongly encouraged to call 902-657-2382 in advance of their visit. Arrangements can be made to manage a patient’s care by phone or virtual appointment when appropriate.  Patients will be instructed about COVID-19 physical distancing restrictions when they call or arrive at the hospital.

Even if using this service, patients should register with the Need a Family Practice registry if they do not have a primary care provider in their local area. Visit needafamilypractice.nshealth.ca.

Full emergency services are available at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Amherst, Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro and Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.
