New Waterford Consolidated Hospital emergency department temporary closures
Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) wishes to advise the public that the emergency department New Waterford Consolidated Hospital will be closed on Friday, Mar. 22 and Saturday, Mar. 23 due to lack of physician coverage.
The department reopens on Tuesday, Mar. 26 at 7 a.m.
Please note, that the emergency department is not open in the evenings, overnight or on Sundays and Mondays.
Anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911, particularly if experiencing unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, abdominal pain, persistent headache or dizziness, or an injury requiring stitches or involving a broken bone.
For non-urgent care, please call your family doctor or visit a walk-in clinic.
For general health advice and information call 811, which is a service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced registered nurses.
