Temporary closure of main entrance at Harbourview Hospital for maintenance starting Monday, Mar. 1

SYDNEY MINES, N.S. – The main entrance at Harbourview Hospital in Sydney Mines will be closed for a few days next week for maintenance.

Starting Monday, Mar. 1, the building’s main entrance will be closed for two to three days to replace the exterior set of sliding doors at the entrance. These doors are original to the building and are almost 40 years old. The interior set of sliding doors have already been replaced.

While this work is underway, people who normally use the main entrance will need to use the entrance door beside the ambulance bay. This includes patients requiring drop-off, visitors and pedestrian traffic. Signage will be in place to direct people to the alternate entrance.

People are asked to use caution if they are near the main entrance where work is being done and to follow all signage. They are also reminded to follow COVID-19 measures including visitor restrictions, social distancing, wearing a non-medical mask and good hand hygiene.

Nova Scotia Health appreciates your patience and cooperation while work is underway.
