Cobequid Youth Health Centre provides a place for youth to turn for help and support. We provide access to a full network of services and supports by a clinic nurse and social worker. The social worker provides counselling, support and referrals to young people, with or without their families, in an environment of respect and confidentiality. They work with young people, and on their behalf, to lessen problems. Cobequid Youth Health Centre provides access to a Youth Wellness Clinic that provides pregnancy testing and support, birth control, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) information and referral, and general health services.
We advocate, navigate and collaborate with community resources to ensure the support and counseling we offer provides long term confidential individual and family counselling to youth and their families in the Cobequid Community Health Board region within the clinic as well as within the Youth Health Centre’s at the schools and in the community.
