The Newcomer Health Clinic provides preventative health and primary medical services for government assisted refugees, privately sponsored refugees and refugee claimants in the greater Halifax area. Patients are supported with finding and transitioning to a family practice in the community within a two year period.
The clinic has family physicians, a registered nurse and administrative support who provide services that include ensuring up-to-date vaccinations, chronic disease management and routine primary care.
Patients are supported with finding and transitioning to a family practice within a two year period. Professional health interpretation services are provided for patients as needed, free of charge.
