Curbside Upgrades To Help Improve Accessibility at Cape Breton Regional Hospital
A change to the sidewalk curb at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital will help improve access for people walking or wheeling to the hospital’s main front entrance.
The concrete construction begins next week in the pick-up and drop-off area. Sections of the curb will be sloped so the entire sidewalk is even with the roadway under the main entrance canopy.
While the curbside work will be done in stages to limit disruption, people using the drop-off, pick-up area at the front of the hospital are asked to use caution during the project.
The public is also reminded that the area is for drop-off and pick up only and for use by the municipal Handi-trans patient transport service.
The work is expected to be finished sometime in July.
Nova Scotia Health Authority regrets any inconvenience caused while improvement to the curbside sidewalk is underway.
