New date for public information session about temporary Victoria County Urgent Treatment Centre
The public information session about the temporary urgent treatment centre (UTC) at Victoria County Memorial Hospital in Baddeck has been rescheduled.
The session will now be held on Thursday, Oct. 6 starting at 6 p.m. in Hydrofoil Hall at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, 559 Chebucto Street, Baddeck. People who registered for the session that was cancelled for Sept. 28 remain registered for this session and will be notified. They do not need to re-register.
In order to adhere to Nova Scotia Health’s COVID-19 guidelines, registration for this event has reached capacity. No further registrations will be accepted unless there is a cancellation. To cancel your attendance or add your name to a waitlist, please send your name and email firstname.lastname@example.org. The session will also be recorded and posted online.
The opening the temporary urgent treatment centre (UTC) was delayed until Tuesday, Oct. 11 due to ongoing disaster response/recovery efforts following Hurricane Fiona. Once the centre opens, it will be available six days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hours are subject to change on holidays. Appointments will be available by phone only – no walk-ins. Patients can book appointments starting at 8 a.m. on Oct. 11 by calling 902-295-2983. When people call, they will be assessed by a registered nurse to determine if they will be scheduled for an appointment, either later that day or the next available day.
