Partners for Care looking to amplify generous businesses offerings for Nova Scotia health care workers during COVID-19 pandemic

Nova Scotia’s healthcare heroes are showing extraordinary care and commitment under unprecedented circumstances and many businesses are showing up as ‘helpers’ with offerings to make life a little easier for them during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To amplify these neighbourly and generous offerings, Partners for Care (PFC) is launching a website that lists the various services and products that are convenient, discounted or free for our healthcare workers across Nova Scotia.
PFC is primarily looking for offerings within the following areas:

  • Food:
    • Grocery services
    • Take-out & delivery (healthy options preferred)
    • Coffee
  • Oil, gas and fuel
  • Home and automobile
  • Drugstores
  • Accommodations (e.g. hotels)
  • Physical and mental well-being

“We hope to provide a comprehensive and varied list of healthy offerings that will contribute to overall health and well-being for our committed healthcare heroes,” says Jane Davies, Executive Director of Partners for Care. “There are many businesses stepping up and getting creative to help our healthcare workers. If your business is doing anything to help, we’d love to hear from you.
PFC is eager to promote local businesses and welcomes initiatives from any company with a local presence. ‘Helpers’ must meet the following criteria:

  • Be either convenient, discounted or free for healthcare workers;
  • Be operated through a properly licensed and insured business;
  • Be available to all Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) staff and physicians although your scope can certainly extend beyond these groups (e.g. NSHA contractors, private healthcare workers)
  • Comply with all regulations and guidance to ensure safe business practices during the COVID-19 pandemic (e.g. proper hygiene and safe social distancing).

Our priority is to protect the well-being of Nova Scotia’s healthcare workers. We are committed to promoting initiatives which will only contribute to—and in no way compromise—their health and safety. We are excluding the promotion of alcohol, cannabis, and tobacco products as well as the promotion of any lottery and gaming offerings.
Businesses with offerings are asked to email with their business name, contact information (phone and email), a brief description of their offering, and how the healthcare hero can redeem their offer (e.g. website link, code, showing NSHA ID badge, etc.).
Note: Offers of personal protective equipment are being managed through a separate process and channel. Companies with offers of personal protective equipment should reach out to
