Telehealth Virtual Care
Primary Health Care
Virtual Care uses audio/video technology to connect patients with health care providers, closer to home.
Telehealth is used in Nova Scotia health care centres for scheduled virtual care appointments. Telehealth supports citizens who do not have internet or cellular services, devices, technical knowledge or a safe space for virtual appointments.
Most NSHA/IWK locations are equipped to provide access to virtual care.
Individuals should contact their health care providers directly to find out if they are offering virtual appointments using Telehealth. For individuals who have been offered a virtual appointment, they will receive instructions and be directed to the following resources. Please review in advance to prepare for the appointment and ensure a secure online experience.
- Virtual Care Patient Information Guide - English (.pdf)
- Virtual Care Patient Information Guide - French (.pdf)
