Urgent Treatment Centres

The urgent treatment centre at Northside General Hospital in North Sydney will be closed on Friday, Dec. 6. It reopens at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Emergency Department

The emergency department at Guysborough Memorial Hospital will be closed: 

  • Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. to Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7 a.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. to Monday, Dec. 9 at 7 a.m.

Driver Evaluation Program

The Driver Evaluation Program at Nova Scotia Health is temporarily on hold. We are retaining existing referrals with the goal of resuming services in the future and are continuing to accept new referrals as they are received. A written referral from a doctor is still required to participate in the program. The referral can be faxed or mailed directly to

Emergency Department

Fishermen's Memorial Hospital emergency department is open from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday December 8 (closing at 12 noon each day).

Virtual Urgent Care is at Fishermen's: Mon. to Fri. from 11a.m. to 7p.m. and Sat. & Sun. from 9a.m. to 1p.m. Patients are accepted up to 30 minutes before closing.
