Pain and Addictions Albro Lake (PAAL)

The Pain Management unit at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, in partnership with the North End Community Health Centre, has opened a new collaborative, inter-disciplinary clinic.

PAAL is a community-based tertiary care clinic available to all Nova Scotians by referral.

The target population is patients with chronic pain and any of the following:

Patients with addiction, in or out of treatment, suffering from acute or chronic pain
Patients prescribed opioids for complex pain management problems transitioning from inpatient to outpatient care
Active addiction
History of addiction
High opioid dose
Opioid aberrant behaviours
No primary care prescriber
