Emergency Department

The emergency department at Guysborough Memorial Hospital will be closed from 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 22 until 8 a.m. on Friday, May 23. 

Virtual urgent care is available onsite daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Hours subject to change. Patient registration ends 30 minutes before closing. 

Strait Richmond Hospital's emergency department will be closed: 

• Fri., May 16 from 6pm to Sat., May 17 at 8am
• Sat., May 17 from 5pm to Mon., May 19 at 8am
• Mon., May 19 at 5pm to Tues., May 20 at 8am
• Tues., May 20 at 5pm to Wed., May 21 at 8am
• Thurs., May 22 from 7am to 10am

North Cumberland Health Care Centre's Collaborative Emergency Centre in Pugwash is closed Sunday, May 18, Monday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 20. Virtual urgent care will be available onsite daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Roseway Hospital emergency department is closed Saturday May 17 and Sunday May 18. It re-opens Monday, May 19 at 8 a.m.

Virtual Urgent Care is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily (Mon. to Sun.), even when emergency dept. is closed. 

Fishermen's Memorial Hospital emergency department is OPEN 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Sat. May 17 and Sun. May 18 (closed at noon and re-opening 7:30 a.m. the next day).

Virtual Urgent Care is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily (Mon. to Sun.), even when emergency dept. is closed. 

Eastern Memorial Hospital emergency dept is closed until 12am on Wed., May 28. Canso Medical Clinic: Mon., May 19-Fri., May 23, 9am-4:30pm. Appt only-call 902-366-2633. Urgent treatment clinic: Sat., May 25 & Sun., May 26, 9am-5pm. Call 902-366-3268 for same-day appt. Virtual urgent care: Mon. & Tues., 8am-6:45pm; Wed., 8am-2:30pm; Thurs.-Sun., 8am-6:45pm. 

Emergency department is OPEN 24 hours daily from 8 a.m. Monday to 1:30 p.m. Friday. It is closed at 1:30 p.m. Friday and re-opens 8 a.m. Monday (closed Sat.&Sun.) 

Virtual Urgent Care is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily (Mon. to Sun.), even when emergency dept. is closed. Patients accepted for appointments up to 60 mins before closing.

Virtual urgent care will be available onsite on Thursday, May 22 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Virtual urgent care is provided by onsite Nova Scotia Health staff and online care providers, like emergency doctors, to treat patients with urgent, but non-life-threatening health matters, like coughs, colds, sprains, etc. Learn more about virtual urgent care. 

The entrance to the Emergency Department (ED) has changed to 1840 Bell Road. This new entrance includes a patient drop-off area, parking, including accessible parking options. 

All Saint Springhill Hospital’s Collaborative Emergency Centre is temporarily closed.  A virtual urgent care service will be available onsite daily.  Please check the schedule here.
