Visitors are welcome throughout the day based on patient needs and preferences. Family and friends may bring food to a patient but should confirm with nursing staff that it does not conflict with any food restrictions.

Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.

When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.

This facility is a Collaborative Emergency Centre (CEC).  We are open based on physician availability. Please call 902-243-2521 for more information. During overnight hours, we are staffed by a paramedic and a registered nurse who may consult with a virtual physician.

Virtual urgent care service will be available onsite Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. when the CEC is closed. 

To access virtual urgent care, anyone with mild or moderate health concerns can walk-in to book an appointment. A Nova Scotia Health team member will support you by providing the technology and a quiet space for your virtual appointment with a health care provider.
