The Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre is located in Upper Nappan on the outskirts of Amherst, Nova Scotia. It offers a wide range of programs and services for residents of Amherst and surrounding areas and specialty services for residents of Cumberland County.

Visitors are welcome daily between the hours of 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Please check with nursing staff if you want to visit outside of the standard visiting hours.
A $3 parking fee will be charged when you exit the parking lot. Please make sure you have the correct change before leaving the hospital.
There are a limited number of metered accessible parking spots. They are located between the main entrance and emergency entrance. These spaces are intended for short-term visits and are cost $1 per hour.
For those visiting on a frequent basis, discounted parking tokens can be purchased from the business office located on the main floor across from ambulatory care. The discounted tokens cost:

Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.
When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.
When you are admitted, be sure to have your private insurance card with you and let the admitting clerk know you have requested a private or semi-private room.TV & Phone in your Room

.All patients are provided with meals and snacks during their stay. If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive.
Crema Coffee shop, main level next to the gift shop
Hours of Operation:
Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The shop provides freshly ground coffee, specialty drinks, made-to-order sandwiches, breakfast treats and more.
Treats and Treasures Gift Shoppe, main lobby
Hours of Operation:
Monday to Thursday: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Please note: the gift shop is closed for the evenings in July and August.
The gift shop is operated by the Cumberland Health Care Auxiliary.
A banking machine is located just inside the main entrance. Change machines are also located in the main lobby and in the emergency room waiting area.
There is a spiritual space/chapel located on the main floor between intensive care unit and the emergency department. There are also a number of family/quiet rooms located throughout the building. Nursing staff can help you find one.

Appointments are required for blood collection service.
If you have a referral, you may book an appointment for blood collection at this location anytime online or by calling 1-833-637-1350 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
Samples must be collected using the water testing bottles provided by NS Health. E.Coli & Coliform testing is a white top 100 ML bottle / Chemical & Mineral testing is a black top 200 ML bottle

A referral needed from family doctor or specialist to access the clinic.

Note: Currently, Nova Scotians who live close to Amherst receive cancer services in Moncton, the QEII Cancer Centre in Halifax or Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro – depending on their treatment needs.
The emergency department is located on the main level and has its own entrance. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
