Black Health and Wellness Immunization Clinics to be offered province-wide during African Heritage Month

During African Heritage Month, the Public Health Mobile Unit will be offering Black Health and Wellness Immunization Clinics across the province, in collaboration with the Advisory Committee for Black Public Health. These culturally specific clinics give Black and African Nova Scotians an opportunity to ask questions and receive vaccinations in a place that feels familiar and respectful.

Although these clinics are culturally specific, all are welcome to attend. Interpretation support will be available.

The following services will be offered at all clinics:

• COVID-19 & Influenza Vaccines (6 months +)
• Shingles & Pneumococcal Vaccines (65+)
• RSV Vaccine (75+)
• Varicella (Chickenpox) Vaccine
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella Vaccine (MMR)
• Measles, Mumps Rubella, Varicella Vaccine (MMRV)
• Tetanus, Diphtheria Vaccine (Td)
• Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Vaccine (Tdap)
• COVID-19 & Influenza Tests
• Healthcare Navigation

You can drop in or book appointments for COVID-19, Influenza and RSV vaccines, and COVID-19 and influenza tests. The remaining vaccines and services are drop in only. Appointments will become available for booking a few days before each clinic.

Please note:

• Vaccines are offered to people aged 6 months and older who are eligible.
• Vaccines and testing are free and available to all who meet eligibility requirements.
• Please bring your health card if you have one.
• Clinics may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
• Public Health Mobile Unit clinics have masks available. If you have symptoms, you are required to put on a mask when entering the clinic and for your appointment/visit.
