Nova Scotia Health is advising crane operations will continue on Robie Street, on Saturday, April 25, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with this phase representing the final crane closure anticipated for this stage of underground electrical work for the new Acute Care Tower. Further construction activity will continue as the project moves forward.

To safely complete this work all southbound lanes on Robie Street will be closed between Quinpool Road and Jubilee Road.

Patients and visitors are advised to use alternate routes during this time. Sidewalks and pedestrian access will remain open. The emergency department will remain open and fully accessible throughout the work.

Motorists should expect delays and follow clearly marked detour routes. Traffic control personnel will be on site to help direct traffic and maintain safe access for patients, visitors and emergency services.

We encourage everyone travelling in the area to allow extra time, follow posted signage, and consider alternate routes where possible. A map of the affected area is included for reference.

We appreciate your patience and co-operation as this important infrastructure work is completed in support of the Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project.
