Antigonish Community Health Clinic

A new Health Home under construction in Antigonish. This partnership between Nova Scotia Health, local physicians, patients, and community partners will improve access to care, support health care teams, and meet the needs of the Antigonish community. Scheduled to open in early 2026, the clinic will provide a welcoming space designed for patients and providers, now and into the future.

Antigonish Community Health Clinic

Work has started on a new Health Home in Antigonish that will improve access to primary healthcare in the community. The clinic will see more than 30 healthcare professionals and support staff and will support about 10,000 patients.

This work is a key step in advancing Nova Scotia Health's vision to transform primary health care across the province. The clinic will offer:

  • Access to a full care team, not just one provider
  • Same day/next day care, extended hours, virtual options
  • Practice-ready space to retain and attract providers
  • Continuity of care through shared records and collaboration
  • A welcoming space tailored to the needs of the Antigonish community

Infrastructure Update

Construction of the Antigonish Community Health Clinic at Sears Ross Drive, Antigonish, is progressing well. The main structure and exterior walls are complete, and the roof is nearly finished.

This summer, crews will install windows, siding, doors, plumbing, and electrical. The project remains on track for an early 2026 opening.

In the coming months, we will:

  • Share regular construction and milestone updates

  • Stay engaged with physicians, partners, and the community

  • Provide more information this fall to help prepare for the clinic’s opening

Antigonish Community Health Clinic Frequently Asked Questions

Health Homes are designed to help patients get the right care, from the right provider, at the right time.

The Antigonish Community Health Clinic will follow this evidence-based, patient-centred, Health Home model of care to best support Nova Scotians. Together, we're building a model of care to improve access to care, support provider recruitment and meet community needs.

We're very excited to represent the physicians of Antigonish by being involved in the development of the new collaborative clinic. It is an excellent way to attract new physicians to practice in the area and to support the physicians who are already working so hard here.”
