A new health home under construction in Antigonish. This partnership between Nova Scotia Health, local physicians, patients, and community partners will improve access to care, support health care teams, and meet the needs of the Antigonish community. Scheduled to open in spring 2026, the clinic will provide a welcoming space designed for patients and providers, now and into the future.
Work has started on a new health home in Antigonish that will improve access to primary healthcare in the community. The clinic will see more than 30 healthcare professionals and support staff and will support about 10,000 patients.
This work is a key step in advancing Nova Scotia Health's vision to transform primary health care across the province. The clinic will offer:
Construction of the Antigonish Community Health Clinic at 44 Sears Ross Drive, Antigonish, is progressing well. The main structure, exterior walls, and roof are now complete.
Interior work is underway, including finishing walls and paint, completing electrical and network cabling, and installing ceilings, doors, flooring, and built-in workspaces. Exterior siding is also being finalized.
The project remains on track to welcome care teams and begin phased clinic operations in spring 2026, starting with Antigonish Family Practice and 220 Main Street Health in early April, followed by additional community-based primary care teams through May.
