All Saints Springhill Hospital inpatients evacuated -Some services onsite continue to be suspended

SPRINGHILL, N.S. – As shared on March 4, All Saints Springhill Hospital inpatients were evacuated due to presence of smoke and the site was closed to allow time for assessment and remediation. The hospital will remain temporarily closed tomorrow, March 7 with some services returning.

Most Recent Services Update:

  • Primary health care clinic staff will be returning to site offering both virtual and in-person appointments to patients on Thursday, March 7. 
  • All other appointments onsite are cancelled for Thursday, March 7
  • Many appointments will be instead offered at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, including outpatient laboratory and diagnostic imaging appointments (X-Ray), ambulatory care clinics, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation outpatient clinics
  • Laundry services have resumed normal operations. 
  • Renal dialysis will continue to be provided at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
  • Inpatient withdrawal management services will continue offsite for current patients. 
  • Efforts to reschedule procedures and appointments are being made, ensuring that patients receive the necessary medical attention once operations resume.
  • The Collaborative Emergency Centre is closed.
  • Updates will be shared tomorrow, March 7.
