Public elevators at Glace Bay Hospital out of service

The main public elevators at Glace Bay Hospital are out of service for repairs.

All outpatient services and clinics located on the hospital's main floor, including X-ray, blood collection (lab) and day surgery are not impacted by the repair work and remain accessible.

Inpatient services are also not affected. Staff continue to provide care, meals and medication to patients and residents.

Visitors coming to the hospital to see patients or residents on the hospital's third and fourth floors will need to use the stairs. Additional staff and signage will be in place to help guide visitors.

Anyone with general questions or concerns about a service can contact the hospital's main switchboard at 902-849-5511.

Nova Scotia Health appreciates the public's cooperation while this work is underway. An update will be provided when the elevators are back in service.
