Traffic Impacts on Robie Street Near Halifax Infirmary

Image
March 7 Lane and Street Closures (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Nova Scotia Health is advising that crane activity will take place on Robie Street on Saturday, March 7, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., to support underground electrical work to bring power to the new Acute Care Tower.

To safely complete this work, traffic changes will be in effect on Robie Street, including:

  • All southbound lanes on Robie Street will be closed between Quinpool Road and Jubilee Road.
  • A northbound lane drop on Robie Street between Jubilee Road and Cedar Street.

Patients and visitors are advised to use alternative routes during this time. Sidewalks and pedestrian access will remain open. The emergency department will remain open and fully accessible throughout the work.

Motorists should expect delays and follow clearly marked detour routes. Traffic control personnel will be on site to help direct traffic and maintain safe access for patients, visitors and emergency services.

We encourage everyone travelling in the area to allow extra time, follow posted signage, and consider alternative routes where possible. A map of the affected area is included for reference.

We appreciate your patience and co-operation as this important infrastructure work is completed in support of the QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project.
