Accessing Primary Care

Available
Varies
Typical Wait for Access to Care
Ranges from an hour to a few days

If you have a health concern that is not life threatening, your first call should be to your primary care provider (doctor or nurse practitioner). If your provider is not available or you do not have one, visiting the emergency room may not be the next best option for help.

Before you risk a potentially time consuming wait at an emergency department, take a moment to explore some alternatives to the ED for urgent or primary care.  You may be surprised at how many accessible and timely options are available.
