St. Mary's Memorial Hospital was founded in 1949 and is located in Sherbrooke, Guysborough County. Located 70 km from St. Martha's Regional Hospital, St. Mary's Memorial Hospital offers a number of health programs and services for residents in the surrounding communities.

Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.
When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.

TV Service
TV and cable are provided free of charge in all patient rooms.
Phone Service
Bedside phone service is available in all patient rooms. There is a fee for this service.
To request phone service, patients can pick up their bedside phone and will automatically be connected to a Bell representative. Billing is coordinated through the individual and charges are billed directly to the patient.
Cell phones and other wireless devices may be used in some areas of the hospital. Please look for signs before using your device. For the safety of patients, please turn off your cell phone when you are not in a cell phone-friendly area.
During your stay at the hospital, you will receive breakfast, lunch and supper daily. Meals are served at approximately 8 a.m., noon and 5 p.m.
If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive.
Staff can help families or patients contact a Chaplain. There is a palliative care family room located onsite.

If you have a referral, you may book an appointment for blood collection at this location anytime online or by calling toll-free 1-855-867-8821, Monday to Friday 7:15-2:45 (excluding holidays).
The emergency department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To access the mental health mobile crisis team call 902-429-8167 or toll-free at 1-888-429-8167. This is a 24 hour, seven days a week phone service to help you or your loved one cope with mental health and addiction challenges in the moment.
Bacterial testing is currently not available at this location. Please drop samples to Bureau Veritas Laboratories, 465 George St, Sydney, NS (902-567-1255). Chemical testing is still available through the NSH clinical laboratories and sent to CZ Environmental Services.
Samples must be collected using the water sample bottles and requisition provided by NS Health. E.Coli & Coliform testing is a white top 100 ML bottle / Chemical & Mineral testing is a black top 200 ML bottle
