The Nova Scotia Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Clinic is celebrating its tenth anniversary of service to military veterans, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members across the province.

Since opening in 2015, the clinic has supported clients experiencing operational stress injuries such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, substance use challenges, and related mental health conditions.

The clinic provides services to clients throughout Nova Scotia, with offices located in Dartmouth and Sydney. Virtual care is also available.

An anniversary celebration will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Dartmouth office located at 100 Eileen Stubbs Ave., Suite 210.

The event will include remarks from first-voice speakers with lived experience of operational stress injuries and recognition of the clinic’s contributions to the health and well-being of veterans and public safety personnel over the past decade.

Quotes:

“When we care for Veterans and their families, we strengthen the fabric of our communities. Through the national OSI clinic network, those who served—and those who stand beside them—receive expert mental health support. Today, we proudly celebrate the Nova Scotia OSI Clinic’s 10 years of service, a legacy of hope and healing that continues to change lives.”

  • The Honourable Jill McKnight, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence

“It’s been an exceptional privilege to co-lead such an incredible interdisciplinary team in supporting and treating our Veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, and RCMP clients. Navigating mental health challenges can be profoundly difficult, and I’m proud of the work our clinic—and the national network of OSI clinics—does to provide evidence-based care and help our clients move toward healthier paths forward.”
