This is a planned drill to help our staff prepare for emergency scenarios—there is no real threat. Patients and visitors may see actors in neon yellow vests with toy weapons and hear overhead announcements. The exercise is strictly controlled, and all participants will be clearly identified. The emergency department at Hants Community Hospital in Windsor will close at 6 p.m. this evening and is scheduled to reopen on Sunday, April 21 at 7 a.m.

Anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911. For general health advice and information call 811, a service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced registered nurses.
