Public Health Mobile Unit

Public Health Mobile Unit (PHMU) provides Public Health services in communities across the province. The program is made up of healthcare vans and people working together with community to support Public Health programs and services. 

Our people include Public Health Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Secretaries, Drivers, Health Promoters, Health Support Aides and leaders who collaborate and deliver community clinics, work with partners and connect Nova Scotians with health and social services. The following vaccines will be offered:

  • COVID-19 vaccine (6 months+)
  • Standard Influenza vaccines (6 months+)
  • Seniors' Influenza vaccines (65+)
  • RSV vaccine (75+)
  • Pneumococcal vaccine (65+)
  • Shingles vaccine (65+)
  • COVID-19 and influenza tests (check eligibility)

Unless otherwise noted, booked appointments and limited drop-ins are available for COVID-19, Influenza and RSV vaccines and COVID-19 and influenza tests. Pneumococcal and Shingles vaccines are drop-in only. 

The infant RSV vaccine is not available at Public Health Mobile Units.

Please note:

  • Vaccines and testing are free and available to all ages that meet publicly funded eligibility requirements.
  • Limited COVID-19 rapid tests may be available for those eligible for testing.
  • Please bring your health card with you, if you have one.
  • You may have to wait in line outside; please dress accordingly.
  • Clinics may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
  • Public Health Mobile Unit clinics has masks available. If you have symptoms, you are required to put on a mask when entering the clinic and for your appointment/visit.
