The emergency department is located at the south end of the hospital. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is a patient drop-off zone and dedicated parking area in front of the emergency department entrance.

To access the provincial mental health mobile crisis team call toll-free at 1-888-429-8167. This is a 24-hour, seven days a week phone service to help you or your loved one cope with mental health and addiction challenges in the moment.
Visitors are welcome daily between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. with the exception of a rest period between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. During the rest period, please limit visits to support patient recovery. Exceptions can be accommodated as needed.
Visiting hours may vary based on the unit. Please check with nursing staff.

A $2 parking fee will be charged when you exit the parking lot. Please make sure you have the correct change before leaving the hospital. A change machine is located in the main lobby.

Samples must be collected using the water sample bottles and requisition provided by NS Health. E.Coli & Coliform testing is a white top 100 ML bottle / Chemical & Mineral testing is a black top 200 ML bottle. Include a completed Aberdeen Hospital Environmental Services request form (pdf).
