Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.
When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.

TV rental is available on most inpatient units. To order TV service (or transfer your service if you change rooms), please dial 1-866-223-3686 from your bedside telephone. Payment can be made by Visa or MasterCard.
The call centre is open from Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., except for statutory holidays.
Patient's are encouraged to bring their own cell phone, or other communication device, along with chargers for any anticipated hospital stay.
To reach a patient who doesn't have their own communication device, please call the patient switchboard at 902-354-5785.
Dial for Dining is a patient meal order service which lets you order from a menu with a variety of healthy food choices.
Microwave ovens, refrigerators, and ice machines are available on most nursing units for use by patients and visitors.
If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive. A clinical dietitian may visit you to talk about your needs. If your family wishes to bring food from home, please talk about this with your nurse before eating. Please do not leave perishable items at your bedside. Refrigerators are available on your unit. Label food items with your name, room number, and date. Snacks are available upon request.

If you have a referral, you may book an appointment for blood collection at this location anytime online or by calling toll-free 1-833-998-2722 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
Emergency department is OPEN 24 hours daily from 8 a.m. Monday to Friday at 1:30 p.m. It is closed at 1:30 p.m. Friday and re-opens Monday at 8 a.m.
The emergency department is located on the main level of the hospital. All hospital access is through the Main Entrance between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m.
Overnight, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., to enter use the entrance at west side of building, by physiotherapy and ring bell for access.
Virtual Urgent Care is available at Queens General Hospital (even when the emergency department is closed) 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Virtual urgent care is available during these hours, when the emergency department is open or closed. Hours are subject to change.
Appointments are walk-in only and cannot be booked in advance.
Water samples must be collected the same morning as drop-off and not the evening before using the water testing bottle and requisition provided by NS Health. E.Coli & Coliform testing is a white top 100 ML bottle/ Chemical & Mineral testing is a black top 200 ML bottle
