Soldiers Memorial Hospital is a full-service, community facility servicing a population of approximately 40,000. The hospital is located in Middleton, Nova Scotia.
Visitors are welcome between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please check with nursing staff, if you want to visit outside of the standard visiting hours.

You MUST pay for parking at kiosk-machine inside the building, before returning to your car:
1. Pay with cash, credit or debit at kiosk-machine inside the building
2. Take ticket, and go to your car
3. At exit gate scan ticket —parking gate will open
NOTE: Parking ticket stub is valid for only 20 minutes. This is time to get to your car and exit parking lot.

Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.
When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.

TV Services
TV rental is available on most inpatient units except for the ALC Unit where there is a television in the common area. A credit card is required to rent a TV. There are also TV’s available in all the inpatient common areas.
Phone Services
Bedside phones are available to for patients to rent. The cost is charged back to your home phone number.
All patients are provided with meals and snacks during their stay. If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive.

Partial service hours: Monday to Friday 2:30 p.m. to 5:25 p.m.

Pastoral care is offered as part of its commitment to minister the needs of the total person. A small chapel is located on level 3. When using elevator A, turn right and walk down the hallway. It is the first door on your right. Nursing staff can help families or patients in contact a chaplain or clergy person of their choice. There are also two family rooms are available for families supporting a loved one receiving palliative care.
A bank machine is located in the lobby.

Water samples must be collected the same morning as drop-off and not the evening before using the water testing bottle and requisition provided by NS Health. E.coli & Coliform testing is a white top 100 ML bottle / Chemical & Mineral testing is a black top 200 ML bottle

If you have a referral, you may book an appointment for blood collection at this location anytime online or by calling toll-free 1-833-998-2722 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
In December, the emergency department is open Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. No patients will be registered in the emergency department after 1:30 p.m. on those days. (NOTE: Closed Friday, Dec. 22 and Mon. Dec. 25)
The emergency room is on the main level of the hospital and to the left of the main entrance.
