A $4 parking fee will be charged when you exit the parking lot. Please ensure you have the correct change before leaving the hospital. Change and banking machines are located near the side entrance by the cafeteria. If you require assistance when exiting the parking lot, press the intercom button to speak to an operator.
Weekly and monthly rates are available. Contact the business office for information.
Free WiFi is available in some areas of the building.
Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.
When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.

TV Service
Bedside TV rental is available in most of our inpatient units. To order service (or transfer your service if you change rooms) please dial 1-866-223-3686
from your phone. Payment can be made by Visa or MasterCard.The call centre is open between Monday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., excluding statutory holidays.
Bedside phone service is available on most inpatient units. There is a fee for this service. In addition to a connection fee, you will be charged a daily rate and will also be billed for all long distance calls.
To request phone services, dial 499 from your bedside telephone between 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. and a representative will arrange to have your service connected within 24 hours (excluding holidays).
Cell phones and other wireless devices may be used in some areas of the hospital. Please look for signage before using your device.
For the safety of patients, please turn off your cellular phones when you are not in a wireless friendly area.
Patients on the medical unit receive tray service at meal time. Patients in other areas of the hospital are served from a hot/cold cart in the dining rooms on the units.
Microwave ovens, refrigerators, and ice machines are available on most nursing units for use by patients and visitors.
If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, be sure to let us know when you arrive. A clinical dietitian may visit to discuss your needs. If your family wishes to bring food from home, please discuss this with your nurse before eating. Please do not leave perishable items at the bedside. Refrigerators are available on your unit. Label food items with the patient’s name, room number and date. Snacks are available upon request.

Quiet rooms and solariums are available for families and friends to use when needed. A service, led by local clergy, is held in the veterans’ unit at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital each Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Veterans’ Memorial Chapel on the main level is open to the public.

If you have a referral, you may book an appointment for blood collection at this location anytime online or by calling toll-free 1-833-998-2722 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
The emergency department is located on the second level of the hospital. It is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.* Please go directly to the department and ring the bell for assessment.
If you require medical attention outside of these hours, go to the emergency department at South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater (90 Glen Allan Dr., Bridgewater) or call 911.
