Nova Scotia Health Public Health is advising of potential exposure to COVID-19 at one location in the Northern Zone, two locations in the Western Zone, 11 locations in the Central Zone, Halifax transit routes and two Air Canada flights. In response to the recent increase of potential COVID-19 public exposures and the resulting heightened demand for testing, Nova Scotia Health will be offering additional testing in Sydney on Sunday, April 25 and Monday, April 26. Dates and times may be extended depending on demand.
The current spike in cases requires the Public Health team to shift contact tracing priorities. Public health is currently able to contact all new cases with 24 hours. There may be delays in contacting high-risk contacts of those cases.
Teams at Dartmouth General Hospital and the QEII Health Sciences Centre are working to review and adjust surgical schedules to reduce elective surgery volumes by up to 25 per cent over the next couple of weeks.
